Anxiety Therapy Orlando Shares A Guided Meditation: Presence & Intention
Anxiety Therapy Orlando Shares A Guided Meditation: Presence & Intention
Written and recorded by: Lauran Hahn, LMHC
As an Orlando therapist, I often witness how the demands of daily life can pull us away from the present moment and disrupt our inner calm. Whether you're managing stress, processing emotions, or looking for ways to feel more grounded, mindfulness offers a powerful path to healing and self-connection.
To begin, find a quiet space where you won’t be disturbed. Choose a private, uninterrupted setting that allows you to focus fully on yourself.
This guided exercise is designed to help you pause, breathe, and reconnect with your inner self. Through simple, intentional steps, you’ll cultivate greater self-awareness, compassion, and clarity—empowering you to meet each moment with purpose and peace.
Close your eyes if you’re comfortable, or soften your gaze. Take a deep breath in through your nose… and slowly release it through your mouth. Feel your body settle into the surface beneath you, allowing yourself to arrive fully in this moment.
Now, gently bring your awareness to your breath. Notice the rhythm of your inhales and exhales. Imagine each breath like the ebb and flow of a wave.
As you breathe in, say to yourself, “Here, I welcome the present.”
As you breathe out, say, “I let go of what no longer serves me.”
Continue this for a few cycles of breath, allowing the words to anchor you.
Take a moment to check in with yourself. Ask gently, “What am I feeling right now?”
Notice any sensations in your body or emotions in your heart. Whatever you find, there’s space for it here. There’s no need to judge or fix anything—just observe with curiosity.
If the feelings are challenging, place a hand over your heart or another comforting spot. Offer yourself these words: “It’s okay to feel this. I am here for myself.”
If the feelings are pleasant, take a moment to savor them. Breathe deeply and allow the joy, gratitude, or warmth to expand.
Now, let’s set an intention for yourself. Ask, “What do I need most right now?”
It might be peace, connection, energy, or something else.
As you inhale, imagine you are drawing that quality into your body.
As you exhale, let go of any tension or resistance to experiencing it.
Repeat silently: “I welcome [intention] into this moment.”
As we prepare to close, bring your attention back to your body. Wiggle your fingers and toes. Take one final, deep breath.
When you’re ready, open your eyes or lift your gaze. Carry with you the sense of intention and self-compassion you’ve cultivated.
